What is called business today is anything but. We have allowed our society to make it acceptable for business to mean nothing more than making profit off of other people’s assets. Most businessmen are not only immoral, but they actually believe that it is acceptable to take someone else’s value and give them nothing in return. It is because of this mentality that it is now imperative to protect your own assets because if you don’t they will be taken from you.
SOme people would say that this was selfishness (with a negative connotation), but I challenge anyone to tell me what is so horrible about being selfish? And what definition of selfish are we talking about here. The word selfish implies self interest; I see the word as meaning that you are prtoecting and valuing your own assets, that you are not willing to give those assets to anyone unless they have something of equal value to barter with. What is so horrible about this? You should earn what you deserve, nothing more. The definition of selfish that implies self interest to the point of injuring others is contradictory. If you wanted to express that you would call it greed, taking more than you deserve or taking more than the value of what you have to trade with. the reason I say this is a contradictory anfd therefore pseudodefinition of selfish is because IT IS NOT IN A PERSON”S SELF INTEREST TO SCREW OTHERS OVER IN THE LONG TERM. You can call this karma or whatever you like, but if you participate in behavior that is detrimental to those around you all you are doing is creating an atmosphere where others will thin they must do the same to keep the grounds even (even if this illusory). Essentially someone will do to you what you did to someone else.
We have people in this society who think that they are above this though (bankers, corporate heads, etc.). However, they will pay these costs at the expense of their offspring’s survival and thus their own survival. They will forever be labeled as the people who destroyed a civilization (assuming more of them don’t f with the history book, which is sadly more than likely).
The point I am trying to make is that the longer people put up with this kind of behavior from these looters, these leeches of society, the longer they will thrive on our loss and misery. If you want a truly eye opening experience on how this works I suggest you find some time to read a novel called Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. She tells a very good story with her ideas and philosphy behind it. It’s very visual and very enlightening.
Oh, and it is illegal for them to not provide you with contract information or to use a phone call as a contract. I commend you on fighting back. We need people to stand up, so keep on standing!

You look like a 20-something when this video was posted, hopefully you have gained knowledge about the ways of the world since then. Essentially what they got you on was called an “impulse buy”. They lured you in with the promise of a rebate or whatever and you even said it in your video, that was what you focused on for the remainder of the sales pitch. They know this, and thats how good salesmen make a good living. I hope you have changed your opinion of DE since, they are not a scam, I was with them for a year or so without any problems and I switched to a cheaper supplier. I found your blog because I am researching their offer for free power Saturdays to see if I can find actual customer testimonials. Unfortunately it is a new program and I have not found what I am looking for. But it seems like a good fit for my household and a good deal. My advice to you would be to do your research before you sign up for anything, especially if there is a contract involved. I have been in your situation several times, whether it be an insurance company, government entity, bank loan etc. Always “sleep on it”. Don’t make hasty decisions that could cost you dearly. Unfortunately also, energy deregulation has brought out the worst in many suppliers, so you need to be extra diligent in paying attention to the “fine print”, whether it be verbal or actual print. I’m not going to watch your outcome video, but judging on the title it worked out in your favor. Good luck to you, and long live Texas!
